Best Streets to Walk
Wukang Road
The star of the Concession. Tree-lined and elegant, Wukang Road is lined with villas and apartment blocks from the 1920s-30s, including the famous Normandie Apartments at the crossroads. It's one of Shanghai's most photographed streets.
Huaihai Road
A major shopping and dining boulevard running through the area — bright, busy and stylish, great for window-shopping and people-watching.
Sinan Road
Home to the Sinan Mansions, a cluster of restored garden villas now housing cafés, restaurants and a museum. Peaceful and photogenic.
Tianzifang
A maze of narrow lanes and shikumen houses turned into boutiques, art studios and cafés. It's the best place to pick up handmade crafts and wander without a clear plan.
